17 May, Evening Talk: Is a Science of Wisdom Possible?

The Buddhist path works with the psychological causes shaping human well-being and ultimately enlightenment, without drawing on blind faith. There are some good reasons why we could approach this as science, without the associations of mystery and metaphysics. A talk followed by a discussion.

Venue: Theosophical Society.310 South Terrace, Adelaide, South Australia.

Friday Cost: $10 (suggested donation). No need to register for the evening talk - just pay at the door.

 

18-19 May, Weekend seminar:
Lamrim Dütsi Nyingpo (Essence of Nectar) by Jamyang Khyentse Wanpgpo.

An informal study of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo's Lamrim Dütsi Nyingpo - Essence of Nectar:Advice on the Gradual Path for Renunciant Meditators.

This profound text is aimed at practitioners who aspire to be free of all ties and focused on the essential practice of meditation. The format of this workshop will be a work in progress as we will translate the text as we go along. In addition to the discussion of the text, this will also give some insight into the nature of Tibetan texts and language, and the process of translation.
