Khenpo Chöying Dorjee is a warm, engaging and distinguished Tibetan Buddhist scholar. He received his degree as Khenpo, roughly equivalent to a Western Ph.D. in Buddhist Studies, in 2004. Since then, he has held several leadership positions at Dzongsar Khyentse Chokyi Lodro Institute in India. At the request of Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, Khenpo has in recent years toured and taught throughout Asia, Europe, and the US, recently teaching at the University of Berkeley in California and The University of British Columbia, Canada.

Confusion clouds our wisdom, and the Heart Sutra is the great medicine that eliminates our confused assumptions about reality. This concise sutra presents the core of the Mahayana vision.

Lasting happiness is not random; it comes from us engaging in constructive attitudes that are not only about our well-being, but also more compassionate perspectives on ourselves and our world.

Lojong is the art of opening up to our world, laying down the burden of our insecurity, and providing a practical tool to generate genuine kindness and compassion. This short text by the great Khyentse Wangpo beautifully summarises the essential points of this indispensable practice.



Friday June 7, 7-9 pm: Evening Talk: Why We Never Give Up

On the Buddhist path, we have good reasons to never give up compassion for everyone - from animals to people to governments, and we have reasons to never give up on the future of our world.

Directions to Sydney Practice Room

450 Elizabeth St. Surry Hills is a 5-10 minutes walk from Central Station - turn right from Devonshire St onto Elizabeth St (away from the city) toward Belvoir Street Theatre. It is near the corner of Elizabeth and Brumby St.
Entrance is via pressing the intercom for Unit 22. Once you have gone through the second door please take the lift to Level One.
