Seminars with Jakob Leschly

Saturday 10 August 10am-4pm

  • Consciousness and Rebirth (Seminar)
The Buddha’s insight into the nature of consciousness is founded on experience and rational insight, it is not founded on cultural practices or belief. We will look at what are the premises for understanding something as intangible as consciousness, how can we understand the nature of death and rebirth, and what are the ramifications of our view.

Sunday 11 August 10am-4pm

  • Integrating Happiness and Suffering on the Path (Seminar)
A short, yet profound and practical, instruction by the third Dodrupchen Jigme Tenpey Nyima - Transforming Suffering and Happiness. This great master was a principal holder of the Longchen Nyingtik lineage, and also one of the root gurus of Dzongsar Khyentse Choki Lodroe. His written instructions are, in addition to their profundity, considered clear and easily applicable. This instruction is not only essential to the practice of Bodhicitta as we find it in the practice of ngondro, it is an essential instruction in integrating the circumstances of our life.. This little text will radically change how you think about life’s past, present, and future circumstances.

Jakob Leschly has been appointed by Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche as a resident teacher in Australia. Most of Siddhartha's Intent Australia’s workshops, retreats and study groups are conducted by him. He began his studies of Buddhism in 1974 and has studied with numerous great teachers particularly Kyabje Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche, Dudjom Rinpoche and Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche. Jakob completed a three year retreat in 1984. Since then he has worked as a translator, interpreter and as a philosophy and meditation instructor. He has completed a BA in Tibetan Studies and lives NSW.
