Wisdom and Method in the Paths of Sutra and Mantra
Thursday 29th November, 7.30 pm
At: Nelson Buddhist Centre
Friday 30th November - Wednesday 5th December
At: The Wangapeka Study & Retreat Centre
This retreat is held under the auspices of Tibetan Buddhist master Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche.
The practice of Buddhist meditation allows us to uncover and experience our natural heritage of wisdom though cultivating insight (Vipashyana). It is to establish a peaceful space of presence and mindfulness, allowing us to awaken a more calm and wide appreciation of reality. Retreat is an invaluable time to clarify and reaffirm our commitment to the vision and path of meditation. Jakob Leschly will lead this 5 day retreat. He will give general instruction and individual interviews.
To view the retreat schedule and information document please email the coordinator Kim at email@example.com. This outlines the daily routine to be followed and provides a detailed overview about how the retreat will be run. Newcomers needn’t feel apprehensive. The retreat is suited to those new to meditation practice and to more seasoned practitioners.
“We can actually declare that, as non-theistic Buddhists, we can free the whole world from pain. That’s the greatest news. And we are doing it properly, rather than worshiping somebody or going into a trance. We are doing it methodically, scientifically, psychologically. Starting with ourselves, we are expanding that news to others in turn. It is very definite and ordinary – and at the same time, it is quite remarkable".
